Intro To Music Theater

This class introduces students to the vocal style of music theater and provides them with tools for performing music theater pieces dynamically. In addition to vocal coaching, students are taught basic acting and movement skills, how to sing while performing, basic choreography, and how to prepare for an audition.

This class teaches students how to engage audiences through clear, energetic delivery in singing and movement. Students perform their work on the final day of class.

When: SPRING SESSION

Music Theater Camp

Enjoy a week-long immersion in the world of music theater! Perfect for stage novices and veterans alike! Students will work on singing with healthy habits and technique while preparing musical theater selections for performance. Each class will include vocal and physical warm ups, improvisation games and study, acting exercises, character/scene study, and some simple choreography. Part of each day’s class will include a short masterclass where students will have the opportunity to present a piece in progress. The final performance will take place on Friday.

Who: Ages 8 - 13

Rock Band Camp

Learn the necessary skills to perform as part of a band! Professional, working musicians will help guide you through the many steps required to perform like a pro. Open to all instrumentalists and vocalists.

Students will perform on the final day of class, and will get the opportunity to perform live at Wauwatosa’s Rotary Performance Pavilion.

July 22nd - 26th

Sound Basics Camp

This course will include interactive games, scientific experiments, and supplemental materials designed to introduce students to the concept of sound, how it is made, how it is recorded, and how it is reproduced mechanically. The teacher will demonstrate the recording process, and students will participate in the making of a CD.

When: SUMMER CAMP

July 29th - August 1st

10 am - Noon

Cost: $95

Who: Ages 7 - 11

 

APPLIED RECORDING CAMP

This course will cover the following: recording acoustic instruments and voices, recording electronic instruments and amps, microphone selection and placement, introduction to recording software, post-production, mixing and mastering, and using other studio equipment. Students will have hands-on participation in individual and group projects resulting in a CD.

When: SUMMER CAMP

August 5th - 8th

9 am - 1 pm

Who: Ages 12 and up
